I’m a 43 yr old mother of a 20 and 17 yr old. I’ve always listened to a lot of different music. I will listen to anything, any genre as long as it sounds good to the ear. I’ve listened to Korn for over 20 yrs. Their music always spoke to me and my internal struggle. Music was, and often times, still is, one of the few things that help me deal with daily life and all the shit I can’t control. Both my kids were listening to Korn in the womb! Now they both have a very broad taste in music. Nothing makes me more proud. They now listen to everything under the sun and we all just sit around and share music and vibe. I love that. Share music with your kids. Listen to their music and LISTEN TO YOUR KIDS! Be to them what you never had.

My friends older brother came over with 50 hits acid and 1 cd. He distributed the acid, and put cd on. It was Korns debut album. Bout 100 people there. It was crazy. It was like hearing Beatles for first time. All we listened to rest night. I literally had a "Korn record release party Aug1995." Gurantee u all 100 those people remember that night

September 1994. I just turned 16. I listen to the local rock radio station every night. Pantera, Metallica, AIC, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Tool, Megadeth, whatever. Out of nowhere I'm half asleep with my Walkman and headphones on and i hear ARE YOU READY!?!?!? and the riff comes in -- mind blown. That weekend I drive down to Wherehouse Records, and spend 30 minutes looking for a song or album by the band "CORE" based on what I thought I heard the DJ say... fml. Finally some other kid kicks in on his board, and hears me talking to the lady at the register.. "Oh you mean KORN!" And thats how I ended up with my love of KoRn for so many years.

Most of Korn are over 50, same with Megadeth and Metallica, man time flies. I remember being 4 years old and being introduced to Master of Puppets in 1986, discovering Megadeth in 1988 as a 6 year old and under the influence of heavy drugs as a 15 year old in 1998 when a mate introduced me to Korn. First we listened to Follow the Leader, then their debut and Life is Peachy. Where the hell did the time go?

Are you ready? This place inside my mind A place I like to hide You don't know the chances What if I should die? A place inside my brain Another kind of pain You don't know the chances I'm so blind Blind Blind Another place I find To escape the pain inside You don't know the chances What if I should die? A place inside my brain Another kind of pain You don't know the chances I'm so blind Blind Blind Deeper, and deeper, and deeper As I journey to live a life that seems to be A lost reality That can never find a way to reach my inner... Self-esteem is low How deep can I go In the ground that I lay If I don't find a way to See through the gray that clouds my mind This time I look to see what's between the lines I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind (I can see I'm going) I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind (going blind) I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind I can't see, I can't see, I'm going blind! It's weird to think how some of these ppl of the 90s were out earlier than I'd think. But then it does make some sense. Around this time, I was around my kids age today, still trying to figure out what I even liked. It was kind of close to the time when we had moved from the city to the suburbs too. I remember listening to the r&b singer, Jon b.he was like my fav, lol. & thats mainly all of what I even remember. I knew my older bro stole that cd & then some. That doofus had a collection of my cds in his car & didn't even lock his car 1 time. I went through his cds, fed up, taking a needle to some. I sorted through that stuff like hmmm 🤔 what would I like 😋...? We weren't that far along from when we used to have sitters, & I knew I had heard my sitter committing suicide to nirvana. I prob pretty much didn't know how to take that. But I do remember looking at the life is peachy cd like this rock stuff... r they purposely trying to look frightening? Heh look at them looking mean... while that other dude is just smiling away (david). They're kinda cute. Like the bsb's that I don't even really listen to but might... 😅 ppl forever guessing stuff ud listen to is like I mean, 🤷🏻♀️ I know it seems kind of fitting for my times. But just not really. Like, I honestly prob was still listening to the spice Girls back then too. Not alotta bsb tho. Good xs. He used to pretend he was all nice, offering rides, just to drop me off at the mall not even bothering to pick me up

I vividly remember the first time I saw this video. I was 11 years old and home alone while my parents were getting drunk at a bar. I was up past my bedtime watching MTV & this video came on. I heard Korn's 'Shoots and Ladders' on my local radio station but never saw them, I thought they were from the UK with the bagpipes in 'Shoots and Ladders'. Watching this video really changed my perspective of them and I jumped on my living room couch and rocked the hell out to this song. They had a sound I never heard before, and it was more evil and cutting edge than Nirvana.

You could never have made the kids in this video believe they would change lives, process 12 full studio albums, tour the world over and over, write books....and most of all be held up in a light as anything considered a success... by those who wrote music in a whole other way!! Korn will be the first to admit "their style" came from the lack of ability... and the years down the line has shown that "these kids in this video" were opening something more than talent could ever open. The honesty and purity of raw emotion...that feeling of release...the hunger of simply wanting to be alive... in a way, that made sense to themselves. Why work jobs you hate for bullshit you don't need? Korn is living proof... that following your heart and being true to yourself, is without a doubt the only way to be a success. So many have done what they were "told" was the successful route in life....35 years later... and still working jobs they hate, only now living fully aware in regrets... within full understanding,that....success or no success... It would have been more of value, to have followed their true path in life....bc the obvious route they decided to take, has given nothing of any value to the person's life, or soul! Follow your heart! Don't sell yourself short buying shit you don't need, while at jobs you fucking hate!
