Fine everyone has their own opinion and the band sounds different from song to song and album to album. I was just using the genre the band members used to describe themselves.Personally I find genre debates pointless as opinions and labels are subjective and most will never agree. I'm just pointing out that the three bands are different in sound and appearance and therefore not imitating each other at all.

Kevin McCarthy you're right but... slipknot isn't nu metal at all... deftones, korn and limp bizkit, they're nu Metal... just listen the IOWA album from slipknot and you'll notice the diference...

For the record, Mushroomhead is not Nu-Metal they are Alternative/Experimental Metal with heavy Industrial influence.Their album XIII did use seven-string guitars with low tuning but that's as much as Nu-Metal they are.

Mushroomhead had a pretty big run of commercial success in the early 2000s but kind of dropped off the mainstream radar and but into the more underground DIY scene, which seems to be working much better for them. Waylon, the singer featured in the video, is newer to the band and came after they chose not to pursue anymore major label contracts so most of his touring was relatively local. Now they have their old singer, J-Mann, back along with Waylon. I can say an an avid Mushroomhead fan, give them a listen, they are very eclectic and have a wide range, you'll most likely find something you like by them. I recommend checking out Solitaire/Unraveling, Sun Doesn't Rise, and Damage Done.

And yeah, you'll see a lot of hate an comparisons to Slipknot, but most of us learn to ignore that. I found that the majority of Maggots who hate on Mushroomhead either haven't heard them or listened to like one song. I'm a Maggot and Mushroomhead fan, and usually when I encounter other Maggots who don't like MRH I can turn them. Thanks for being more open minded than most here, Mushroomhead is an excellent metal band

Not really. SLIPKNOT is Slipknot lite, these days...MRH is just as hard (possibly harder) as they've ever been, while SK kinda...mellowed out, into what I like to call "SlipSour". Don't get me wrong, I like both bands, but Slip's more "hit and miss", whereas 'Shroom is much less likely to "miss".

I actually draw and paint alot and make lots of music and have created alot of things dude. I just think the masks look dumb. simple as that. Im sure they have their reasons for it but I just dont like the masks. thats all. My opinion. nothing else.

The masks are all about the stage show. Something most bands no longer care about.
