Okay, so everyone's complaining about the 'new korn'. They're an experimental band. And no matter what 'type' of music it is. It's still korn! And if you can't accept that, your not a true Korn fan. I'm not saying you should LOVE every song they make. Just accept what they're doing and shut up. Jesus..

+Bastian I honestly think it's more interesting when an artist can break the rules and do something people weren't expecting instead of "compiling a song" the same way everyone else does it. Look at Hendrix, do you think he played by anyone's rules? Lol
@sbstnpofadder8 жыл бұрын
Tokin Taylor I would not compare Hendrix to anyone , he`s in league all to his own and was the best! Also the fact that he is a self taught guitarist makes him a legend in his own rite. Korn has really come a long way. I feel like the people who don't like "See you on the other side and Untitled" don't understand how much pressure Munky had on him when Head left. Sure you don't have to like the albums that Head didn't record on, but don't bash them and call them terrible. They did a considerably good job being just a 4 man band for some years.

Personally I don't like the NEW SOUND. Not the whole deal with the bands fucking drama. Jesus... Like I just heard the titled song for the album and it's AWFUL. I miss Korn when their edge was sharp. They had a good following and their music was less kidish then it is now. All jumpy and constantly trying to pursue some form of edge that's long since died out. I feel that's what they've become. And I listen to their new stuff really to only assure myself I'm right. Untitled was the last album I bought. I LIKED IT. But around there was when the barrier was broken. I love all of Korn's stuff. I'm not some whiny kid who can't (or won't, in some of your cases) stop living in his troubled high school past. I can actually appreciate that they're branching out to new audiences. This most recent album is indeed a nod to their older stuff, and it shows. Just because something is a nod doesn't mean it has to be completely identical. Some of the tracks on the album do really sound like their old stuff, just with better sound quality.

Have ever listened to their old songs? Disturbing lyrics are one thing but a disturbed individual singing those lyrics is another. Jonathan was that disturbed person, he didn't even have to try all he had to do was sing and flush out all that hatred and anger. The old songs had all that hatred, these days Jonathan has lost all that angst. And I'm glad for him but that gets rid of the intensity within his songs. I hope I haven't rambled on and have shown you why people are so upset at the new Korn.

This song does such an excellent job of conveying the true hopelessness of being addicted to meth. When it’s severe, it is one of the most mentally destructive and tormenting conditions ever, and they really hit it on the nail with this song. I could genuinely feel the loss of all hope in it. It sum it up, “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.” Well done Korn. Love it.

Been with Korn since "Blind" and this song is one of the best songs KORN has ever done. JD's voice has gotten better and the band is tighter than ever. People just need to recognize that the band has grown up. These are people in their late 30's and early 40's. Adapt or die... Honestly as someone who is the same age I find the albums relate to my life. There is a lot of pain felt as one grows older be it loves lost or our dreams disappearing by the year. The band is speaking to these issues, not the old ones we had when we were young and angry.

The lesson from KoRn's music video "Y'all Want A Single" can be applied to this music video. This music video is AMAZING, but you won't see it be nominated for the best music video in the music awards. Instead, you'll see stupid pop music videos filled with nothing but half-naked women dancing around win the awards. The modern music industry is killing creativity to be filled with the same bull over and over again.

Yeah, this vid wont. But Never Never will. And then theres all their other poppy songs that came out. Korn "changed their style?".... yeah, mixed it with pop. Y'all wanna Single can be applied to their last 2 albums, as in how its not supposed to be done.
@GigaChad-iy2lz10 жыл бұрын
They didn't mix it with pop, they experimented with their sound more when Head left. The only poppy songs they ever did was Never Never and everything from their "Path of Totality" album.

Not bad, at all. Will always love the old stuff, but you can't expect a band to stay in one place and do the samething forever. People may complain about the change, but if they stayed the same, people would bitch about them not branching out and trying new things. This is good, but every band will have a few songs that people are gonna scratch their heads at.

I wouldn't say so. It's like the last time Korn had any passion for what they were doing dissipated the moment they finished recording Untouchables. This is my first time listening to this, and though I'm listening to it with an open mind after their Dub Shit venture, it's still like they're jus' going through the motions. Sorry, man, this isn't the Korn you remember - it really hurts to say this but the Korn we both remember has long gone.
@Cipry1611 жыл бұрын
Indeed. I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks the same. In fact this last album sounds mediocre, just like some run of the mill nu-metal band, nothing special. It just lacks the ''kornish'' essence.

Their new drummer is awesome, and the f'ed up oldschool sound is back (and Head, of course). Korn is back. I also think this song is underrated. I know that never never's music video came out before Love and Meth, but this song should have racked up more views than never never by now. This is one of my favorite songs of the year, for sure.

Yeah meth is an epidemic around the world. I got hooked on it to take away my chronic pain and stall my suicide. We all know Head was hooked hard. A lot of pain from a lot of corruption in our country. Also most everyone including myself who took amphetamines or Adderall as kids ended up doing meth. It feels very similar. Don't blame yourself just do whatever you can to keep putting one foot in front of the other friend.

this song is kind of new to me, it has a couple of years but i just heard it a couple of months ago, and when i heard it i loved it, but one day i just started hearing it and i started crying. this song is obviously about drug problems, my dad had a problem with drugs, when i was 12 he just disapeared, and when i was 13 my mom told me why, i know he loved me, but i never saw him again for the past 6 years, and one day he had an asma attack (or whatever its called) and wich sent him to the hospital, when that happened my family from my father that i also didnt saw for at least 7 years contacted me to tell me what happened to him, they said to me i could visit, but i knew that he was very weak and i didnt wanted to see him consumed by the drugs, so i said that ill wait until he gets better, he didnt, they tried so many drugs on him to make him feel better but they had no effect due to his body being acostume to them, no long time later died from a heart attack. i know he loved me, but he was sick, someone adicted is someone sick, and this song is what i thinck he was going through, he was my hero, good father or not, ill always love him and he was a good person but with awful friends, it has been over a year since he died and 6 or 7 since i last saw him and there isnt a day that i dont miss him.

I'm a long time Korn fan and I actually like this song. A little bit too radio-friendly in the chorus but heavy as the old songs
@ecaepevolhturt10 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Everything about this is great apart from the chorus. It's too melodic and not rhythmic enough. If they had made the chorus more like K*%t or Helmet in the Bush this song would've been perfect. It makes me realize just how important David was.
@ecaepevolhturt10 жыл бұрын
zepknot I'm all for change or perhaps a better word is development. The thing which made KoRn special was their rhythmic complexity (the middle part in "Freak on a Leash" is a good example). They have lost that. It's a change but a it's change for the worse.
@ecaepevolhturt10 жыл бұрын
zepknot The only band I can I think of is Tool. Their song "The Pot" is great. It captures the same style as their old stuff (prog-rock) but it's got more groove. It's more accessible and perhaps because of that they are touching more people whilst also retaining their awesomeness/complexity. "The Pot" video on youtube has 22.7 million views.
@ecaepevolhturt10 жыл бұрын
zepknot I never said it was an official video, I said it was a video. I guess this all comes down to how you define the word change or rather how YOU define the word change as I am thinking of the word development. Why change something if it already works? That's my point. KoRn changed but they changed too much. They lost the thing about them which makes them unique/innovative/cool/leaders. This song's chorus sounds like Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, etc. To develop something you keep the good and change the bad. That's how you make progress. Korn cut the good and keep the bad. That's why they don't make progress. Having said that most of the songs on Paradigm Shift are okay but I hate the chorus in this song. Perhaps Tool haven't changed much but I think that's because they have nothing that they can improve. Maybe Tool don't have to change because they are that good. Who can argue with 22.7 million views. It's an incredible achievement especially for a band that used to avoid the media so much and never pandered to the audience, changed their style to fit in with fashion trends (cough cough Skrillex). Tool get so much underground respect and love and they deserve it. People have been making fun of KoRn since 2004; Head finds Jesus, David talks s$%t about Jon's wife, Fieldy finds Jesus, KoRn's new drummer looks like a dork.

I don't know what everybody's complaining about. It sounds like Korn to me! I like it and I think it's true to their original sound. If folks like their old stuff so much, just only listen to, be happy with that and move on. Great sounds from a great band. They sound better with Brian Welch back in the band. I missed him not being in the lineup. I'm also glad that the band has eliminated a lot of the substance abuse problems that almost destroyed them from being able to make music as a band. Good for them. I don't know what genre they fit into, if they ever did in the first place. Korn is just Korn!
