LYRICS
Don't wanna be sly and defile you
Desecrate my mind and rely on you
I just wanna break this crown
But it's hard when I'm so run down
And you're so cynical, Narcissistic Cannibal!
Got to bring myself back from the dead!
Sometimes, I hate, the life, I made
Everything's wrong every time
Pushing on I can't escape
Everything that comes my way
Is haunting me taking its sweet time
Holding on I'm lost in a haze
Fighting life to the end of my days
Don't wanna be rude but I have to
Nothing's good about the hell you put me through
I just need to look around
See that life that has come unbound
And you're so cynical, Narcissistic Cannibal
Got to bring myself back from the dead
Sometimes, I hate, the life I made
Everything's wrong every time
Pushing on I can't escape
Everything that comes my way
Is haunting me taking its sweet time
Sometimes, I hate, the life I made
Everything's wrong every time
Pushing on I can't escape
Everything that comes my way
Is haunting me taking its sweet time
Holding on I'm lost in a haze
Fighting life to the end of my days
Holding on I'm lost in a haze
Fighting life to the end of my days

For people saying "this isn't metal"... GEEZ! The whole point of Korn were to be pioneers of metal, to experiment with sounds, and to change over time, not keep the same old sounding bullcrap for every record! Their whole purpose was to experiment! This is definitely experimentation, and hey, it doesn't sound too bad! In fact, it sounds amazing.

+Pikaboss EVERY band, and I mean EVERY band expands their sound over time. They morph. They keep their roots, but they evolve. They change. It's the way things work. Nobody is going to listen to music if it's ALL THE SAME. Admittedly, some change is good, and sometimes the changes bands make isn't for the better, but all in all, you have to admit that any band that's been out for years is going to make changes to their sound even if its just small things

It helps that Skrillex - prior to his solo career - was actually in the rock/metal scene. Namely he was the Rhythm Guitarist and a Vocalist on From First to Last's 2nd and 3rd studio releases (first release was technically an EP) He actually has been with that band again since 2017 it looks like. I think it's fairly common for producers to have a broad background or at least listen to a broad spectrum of music even if they've never worked in that genre before.

Old korn fans hate this song for being different than their old stuff, but fail to realize THATS what made korn so popular to begin with. nu metal was a revolution in metal. That kind of music was never done before. It took them 26 years to do it again with PoT. They recieved a lot of hate at first, but ive never actually heard in person somebody hating this song... +budred123 - Bernie Sanders FTW - Hey, i like Metal, Punk, Rap, Jazz, Blues, etc, but the dubstep not sounds so good, you know, songs of the space (sounds of intergalactic naves), similar things, to the people that like a feeling music, isn't good. Music has to have a certain feeling and groove, the electronic/dubstep don't have it, is so artificial, is a throwback to the music.

I have actually developed a deep love for korn. I love their music. I love them as people. Such great guys. I love the full “ big band “ equivalent sound they produce,..both studio and live. In fact I prefer their live production more than studio ,..you can’t beat the sound,..atmosphere,..big f’kin buzz of a great band of musicians playing live. Yeah so anyway. I f’kin love these guys and everything they do. My only one regret is not getting into Korn a whole lot sooner. I’m now 50 and life has just taken a huge turn. Just got married. Settled down. Developed a serious life changing illness. So I appreciate the things in my life a whole lot more. Everyday is a blessing. Korn should have been here with me all the way through. This song holds a bit of nostalgia for me, it always reminds me of when I played Minecraft on an over 18 server, reminds me of all the friends I had back then. things changed, some people left, then the server owner retired and shut it all down. a new server was started but it just was never the same. We all went our separate ways, but when I hear this song, I think about all them and wonder what they are up to these days. I have lost touch with everyone. Now I dont play games anymore, nothing is fun anymore. i have no friends. but Korn will always be there.

Jason Reynolds I’m 50/50 with you on this. I think this is very close to industrial metal but just personal opinion it doesn’t quite have that “grit” that other industrial metal bands have. Recently been listening to a lot of old and new Fear Factory so I got some example to backup my claim. Don’t get me wrong though, Path of Totality is actually one of my favorite Korn albums tbh it was my jam the latter part of high school for me.

Are you kidding me? If you think iTunes ruined the music industry then you must not know anything about the music industry. Or at least not the aspect of it you’re currently speaking on. iTunes did nothing to the music industry. The downfall you’re talking about was the result of piracy in the 00’s and by the time this came out, everything was being torrented. Literally every single album was leaked before it even came out and record sales plummeted massively. iTunes had absolutely nothing to do with anything besides provide digital sales to an artist’s overall sales.

+TheDukeOfJon It's not about genres. Nobody gives a shit what label you give to it. It's about how it sounds. Some people simply don't like how this sounds like. The elements they don't like in it happen to be fundamental to a certain genre. People bitch a lot about it in relation to this particular song, because the people who don't like the dissonating parts, in the same breath recongize how good a song it is, possibly the best Korn song in a log time. They bitch about because they are disappointed that such a good song is not enjoyable for them, because sounds they don't enjoy, are in it absolutely without a function. They bitch about it because was this song released several years earlier or later, the parts they don't like wouldn't be in it.

If your a metal fan bashing on korn for going with a dubstep metal mixed sound, I think your probably being a purist...for no reason. Korn has never been heavy metal. They have been heavy, they have been metal here and there, but they’ve always never fit particularly into the heavy metal genre. The dubstep seems like a natural progression to experiment with their particular sound. If there was one band I could think dubstep would work with, it would be korn. Don’t hate on them for experimenting, even if it’s just not for you. This is how music expands its horizons. Do any of you think heavy metal would be where it is today if Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, etc hasn’t experimented with melding genera? Great job on korn, for experimenting with heavy music, and heavy techno, this song turned out great
