It helps that Skrillex - prior to his solo career - was actually in the rock/metal scene. Namely he was the Rhythm Guitarist and a Vocalist on From First to Last's 2nd and 3rd studio releases (first release was technically an EP) He actually has been with that band again since 2017 it looks like. I think it's fairly common for producers to have a broad background or at least listen to a broad spectrum of music even if they've never worked in that genre before.

This song really describes what it is to be abused by a narcissist. Feeling like everything you do is a mistake, questioning every thought and relying on the narcissist to guide you. Ive gone thru it and still recovering and it is the worst feeling in the world. Anytime you try to move on their grasp on your mind makes it so hard. This literally is a song describing what happen with that heard depp trial, how that witch ruined his life. Hes brining himself back from the dead.

Fact, 100%. For the longest time I thought I was the problem, the narcissist, in my now failed marriage. I've since been shown by various professionals, along with friends and family (hers and mine), I survived and escaped from a text book narcissist, sanity intact, which apparently is no small feat. My brother says this song is basically the theme song for what I endured, I have to agree with that assessment.

Gaslight is strong with these creatures, bad part is, their pathology coverage is not limited to their intimate partner, they often (if not always) use “triangulation”, “just a friend” to recur to in those every single moments you give “space” whether because they request it or just because you delimit boundaries, so when you get back, for them is like nothing happened. And when I say it’s not limited to you as in a relationship, neither is for their children, siblings, probably not parents since it’s most likely where it’s came from but still, co-workers, employees, you name it. They have certain gaslighting methodologies for each scenario and or type of relationship. Sad, frightening, but it’s not new, and they’re still humans. You cannot just put them in a g*s chmbr, can you. The only tool against this is informing and educating people against this. Why does that not happen? Imho, I’d say because “those” in charge to make it happen ARE those kind of creatures

Old korn fans hate this song for being different than their old stuff, but fail to realize THATS what made korn so popular to begin with. nu metal was a revolution in metal. That kind of music was never done before. It took them 26 years to do it again with PoT. They recieved a lot of hate at first, but ive never actually heard in person somebody hating this song... Oldschool korn fan btw.

For people saying "this isn't metal"... GEEZ! The whole point of Korn were to be pioneers of metal, to experiment with sounds, and to change over time, not keep the same old sounding bullcrap for every record! Their whole purpose was to experiment! This is definitely experimentation, and hey, it doesn't sound too bad! In fact, it sounds amazing.

+Pikaboss EVERY band, and I mean EVERY band expands their sound over time. They morph. They keep their roots, but they evolve. They change. It's the way things work. Nobody is going to listen to music if it's ALL THE SAME. Admittedly, some change is good, and sometimes the changes bands make isn't for the better, but all in all, you have to admit that any band that's been out for years is going to make changes to their sound even if its just small things

+budred123 - Bernie Sanders FTW - Hey, i like Metal, Punk, Rap, Jazz, Blues, etc, but the dubstep not sounds so good, you know, songs of the space (sounds of intergalactic naves), similar things, to the people that like a feeling music, isn't good. Music has to have a certain feeling and groove, the electronic/dubstep don't have it, is so artificial, is a throwback to the music.

@@josiahralya9595 Both Jon and Corey are major reasons why I think Korn and SlipKnot made it to the top. They not only have the perfect sounding voices for this genre but they’re highly efficient at hitting specific notes and sounds they know goes perfect with the song.

I hope this actually gets into Shambhala 2016 Excision mix. Oh, wait, wrong crowd. It's five years old but metal instruments tend to make it sound younger. Plus this could be a really good gateway to people who want to try electronic music, particularly dubstep, or in this case, drumstep/DnB.

I have actually developed a deep love for korn. I love their music. I love them as people. Such great guys. I love the full “ big band “ equivalent sound they produce,..both studio and live. In fact I prefer their live production more than studio ,..you can’t beat the sound,..atmosphere,..big f’kin buzz of a great band of musicians playing live. Yeah so anyway. I f’kin love these guys and everything they do. My only one regret is not getting into Korn a whole lot sooner. I’m now 50 and life has just taken a huge turn. Just got married. Settled down. Developed a serious life changing illness. So I appreciate the things in my life a whole lot more. Everyday is a blessing. Korn should have been here with me all the way through. GTTDI DUDE. Best concert I ever attended was Projekt Revolution 2004 in Bristow, VA. The entire lawn was one huge mosh pit when Korn started playing. They put on the best live performances.

People don't understand how important this album was for Korn. It allowed them to wipe the slate clean, try something new and reach new fans all the while still performing their older stuff and boom Head comes back to the band.

Not sure what's the big deal with the hate coming in from the older fans. So they wanted to add a bit of a twist to their music, so what. You like their old stuff, stick with it. You don't like their new stuff, whatever dude. I liked Korn until I got educated in tones that exist to create melodies. Upon realizing RUMBLE is not a tone in a musical scope, I abandon all consideration for Korn composing music. They are a Noise novelty for people with no Musical education.

Its the equivalent to the "Heavy stuff" that distorted guitars are. Rock= bass, guitar, drums, + the heavy stuff aka Distorted guitars Pop/EDM= bass, drum, SFX + the heavy stuff aka Bass wobbles wubby wubbs (Dubstep) So in a way, they play similar roles in theyre own genre

The elements they don't like in it happen to be fundamental to a certain genre. People bitch a lot about it in relation to this particular song, because the people who don't like the dissonating parts, in the same breath recongize how good a song it is, possibly the best Korn song in a log time. Or at least not the aspect of it you’re currently speaking on. iTunes did nothing to the music industry. The downfall you’re talking about was the result of piracy in the 00’s and by the time this came out, everything was being torrented. Literally every single album was leaked before it even came out and record sales plummeted massively. iTunes had absolutely nothing to do with anything besides provide digital sales to an artist’s overall sales.
