The ones complaining about this song sounding "different" and "not Korn" and "too electronic" are the same ones that would complain if Korn made every album sound the same.

Korn's always tried different stuff, and that's great, they're doing their thing and if people happen to like that it's awesome. With that said I personally don't really like this song (and couldn't stand Path of Totality at all) and would love to have another album in the style of their debut album. But that's not going to happen, and they've made other different stuff that I really like, so I guess that's fine.
@Snake_206610 жыл бұрын
Somtimes I think people forget what KoRn is all about, trying different stuff. Every single KoRn album is different. No two are alike, except for maybe the self entitled album and Life is Peachy. Even then, it was different yet the same. Other than that, you can't compare two KoRn albums and say they sound the same or are not different in their own way.
@MarkVaughnLive10 жыл бұрын
I personally love this song. You want Korn's old sound? Listen to their old albums. To those that appreciate the hard work put into these songs, you get it. You understand the evolution of Korn.

I'm one of those KoRn fan's that love all that they do. Either with David or without, with Head or without it doesn't matter. They're an awesome band, no matter who is there or not, and what their sounds is. They're not one of those bands who sound alike, their sound is unique as well as JD's voice. Anyone who thinks less of KoRn needs to keep their comments to who? Themselves.

To Jonathan Davis: I can't thank you enough for this song. I have repeatedly turned to this song in my many times of need. But honestly, never have I needed it more than now. I had the worst day yesterday. I don't know if I have ever been, treated as cruely, as I was yesterday. In my pit of despair, I turned to this, and it is the one thing that it keeping me from following through on my dark thoughts. Thank you. Truly thank you. It is my only comfort right now.

I don't like this song, but I agree with what you're saying here. It's fine to like this, 1 Direction, or a dude plucking one guitar string on a washboard in the middle of a swamp with goats singing backup. The older I get the more I realize it's just all up to personal taste, really - no reason anybody should be a jerk just because they're upset that the music has changed, and no reason those of us who enjoy Korn's older material can't go on enjoying that for what it is/was.

People are talking shit on this song, but this album is pretty much like a bonus album with live tracks and songs we've never heard right? That would mean for the actual Paradigm Shift album they cut this song because it did not meet their standards for the LP or did not fit. Obviously there was a reason. I'm just glad they're giving us the option of hearing it at all whether it's their best or not. Started listening to KoRn when I was 12-14 and they are still innovators today and relevant in my life. For that I'm grateful.
@PHVNT0ML0RD8110 жыл бұрын
Being the huge KoRn fan that I am, I'm gonna lay it out right here and now for all you crying and whining little bitches. The Paradigm Shift is a fucking brilliant album. We have Head back after 8 FUCKING YEARS. The guys have found their heavy, groovy sound again, and it is downright epic. As much as i loved The Path of Totality (Because I'm not a close minded prick like most of you) do you remember how let down alot of people were? I actually like dubstep on occasion so i loved TPOT, but when you really look at it, that album left behind almost every aspect of the old KoRn we know and love. But with TPS they've rediscovered SO MANY of those old traits: the heavy-ass twin guitars from Munk and Head, Jonathan's dark, crazy, emotional lyrics (from his detoxing situation), Fieldy got to bring back his old signature bass sound, and I have to admit Ray even strutted his shit pretty well on this album (Though I'll always firmly believe David is the TRUE drummer of KoRn). But my point, though i've enjoyed every album KoRn has ever released, is that THIS album is the true epic return of our favorite crazy, dread-headed head bangers. Whether you agree or not... they're back at the top of the fucking food chain.

Noticed a lot of comments talking about true fans and such. Here's what I think a true fan is: Someone who doesn't blindly say all of said bands music is godly and everyone should like it, but they also should acknowledge that bands evolve overtime to fit in with the trends of the new age. Personally I don't like what korn is doing right now, they sound a bit too "soft" for my tastes but some people like it this way, and good for them.

KoRn doesn't need you HATERS anyway. They are still on top. Bands evolve...DEAL WITH IT. You don't like it? Don't buy it...don't listen to it. Go listen to AC/DC who sounds THE FREAKIN' SAME since the day they started. Closed minded listeners MISS OUT. EVOLUTION=GROWTH. Bands don't stick around for 20 years doing the same gig. Those that do not evolve DO NOT LAST. KoRn has persevered and managed to delve into foreign genres and integrate their sound successfully and seamlessly. Try being in a band that tries to continue to be creative and be able to make a living making records these days. KoRn is a hard working band and deserve all the success they have earned. Don't agree? Stop listening and move on to these new crappy bands that try to sound like every other band out there. Boring. IMO... Have a nice day :) -Queen Lana

Hi, my name is Jamie and I'm a Korn fan. I've been coming to these internet meeting for almost 15 years now. I've been a Korn fan for a long time and yes I have a problem. You see, I actually post things like: "I like this song." You see this is where I have a problem. Normal Korn fans say shit like: "This band used to be good." or "Too much electronic, they should be heavier. They used to be good." Clearly my actions are abnormal and I must apologize to Korn society but enough of my problems. I like this song...oh, there it goes again. I must stop now this is abnormal behavior.

Would you really like i Korn made songs which were nearly identical to the old songs? I sincerely doubt that, take a look at Deathstars fans, they are sticking to their music, without making any changes, and many fans are getting more and more dissatisfied. Korn has grown, as well as their music, and no matter what you say, they aren't the all drugged up boys anymore, they have families now and other things on their minds. Stop being so stuck up, broaden your horizons and give the new songs another go, maybe you will grow to like them and lessen your urge to trashtalk them on every new song/video they put on the internet.
@frugihoyi10 жыл бұрын
I would like it actually. They did it with Remember Who You Are and it was probably their best album since the 90s. With that said, I don't expect them to do it again and I completely understand and respect it if they want to experiment with different things. But yes, I would like it if they still sounded like they used to. That was the sound that got me into Korn. If they sounded like this when I first heard them in the 90s I wouldn't have given two shits about them.
@Vyrulen10 жыл бұрын
frugihoyi I could not have said it better myself. KoRn III: Remember Who You Are was either a fluke or the last sliver of hope we had for awesome, modern KoRn tracks. This new shit is so bland and flat in my honest opinion. I'm all for evolution in a band, as long as they become better and not follow this damn Linkin Park trend of shitting on their fans and creative legacy.
@nevrom2510 жыл бұрын
fast answer :) good comment but at least I am the fan who want more oldschool hiphop influences not this industrial crap... many artists now base on electronic music and i think that's just suck... i don't like new korn.. new papa roach (pop), new linkin park (same as korn) from other genres Matisyahu made awful new album.. and dub fx too (ye i listen to some dub music also) but dub should stay dub and korn should stay KoRn... ty :)

I first heard them around 1997. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was outside with my brother and some of his friends playing a game of baseball in my backyard. During the middle of the game one of my brothers friends motioned for me to come over towards him and I remember him basically forcing me to listen to the music he was listening to on his Walkman CD player, he insisted I listen to whatever it was he was listening to on his portable CD player. I just remember putting the headphones on and the music started and it was the breakdown part to the song f@get the part where J.D sings "you can suck my d!ck and fuck!ng like it" I just remember thinking WTF is this, but at the same time I was so intrigued, it was a conglomerate of many different genres of music and it was hard to consume everything that I was hearing at that moment but it's also something that I still hold very close to me nearly 30 years after I heard them for the first time!

To all those who say Korn have lost their passion and are disappointed with the fact that they're not making music like they used to: How do you know they have lost their passion? Do you know what they feel in their hearts? No. You don't. You are not them, so how could you know about their passion? As for them not making music like they used to. Duh. Of course they won't make music the way they used to. As artists they must change in order to grow. They must please themselves first. Artists make the music they want to make.

As the song says, "You can't bring me down" and your hate isn't gonna change anything.

David actually can't stand his fans either calls a bunch of whiny cunts. I'm s drummer and he was my big influence but now how he is fuck that guy

gummoboy333 To be fair, he has been rather provocative towards the fans. I give him credit for saying that as an artist, he doesn't technically owe anything to the fans because that's completely true. Though, he misses the point that if it weren't for his fans, including the people he lashed out at, he wouldn't even have a celebrity status. The fact is he dug his own hole.

His new band is garbage, so if that's any indicator KoRn would certainly be floundering if he was still drummer.

They're just doing their thing. Like they say, if you keep one sound for too long you can get stale. Props to them in whatever they do with their music!!

I hate to say this, but I think I'm no longer a Korn fan. I don't know what happened a few years ago, but they made a massive change in sound and attitude. The first few albums were brilliant. I even vividly remember seeing them back around 93 or so when they were nobody and opening for Megadeth and was blown away. Then I think it was "Issues" in '99 and I lost all interest (when all of a sudden MTV was all over them - maybe it was later than that).This song put me to sleep. Their old stuff gave me nightmares. So, sorry. Not digging it whatsoever, and this will be at least, I believe the fifth album in a row I have no interest in. :(

I stopped liking their music when the fifth album 2002 came out. Issues was okay (Trash was a cool tune) but the music was losing the passion/energy that the first three albums had. Korn have been lost since 2002. They couldn't handle the power/fame.
@Darkone34810 жыл бұрын
Interestingly enough their first three are probably my least favorite, I guess maybe this is where the divide in opinions is coming from? I kind of found the first three albums to be very bland and boring. I dunno, it just didn't seem like there was much to hold my interest. Follow the Leader was especially bad in that respect, just so many songs that don't hold my interest. I really like Issues, Untitled, and Path of Totality. Paradigm shift was kind of a disappointment to me, but this song sounds great. I kind of wish the entire album sounded more like this song and a little less like Untouchables.

I was bullied for 2 years straight, I was physically abused almost every day (Slaps, punches, kicks, etc) and of course verbally too, you know, humiliated in front of my classmates/friends and all that shit, I do think that left a "trauma" in me, an insecurity, and it permanently changed me for the worse, I guess that cannot be helped and yet, still I think kids these days are too weak mentally speaking, thinking of killing themselves and all that crap, I mean sure it's not pretty, but it's not the end of the world either, you have to endure, kids need to realize that life won't always be "safe" and "comfy" that's reality, by the way I've always loved KoRn and I think this song is mediocre at best.

Everybody forgets what Korn is about. About trying different things. Not 2 albums are alike. And if you think they "sold out", they've liked electronic music their whole lives. Jonathan has been DJing since he was in high school. If this is "too different" then get out. Just leave. You're not a true Korn fan.

SYOTOS was the best album they did without him. If he'd stayed? Damn, that would've been epic. Of course it's probably best he left for a while to sort his life out.

I don't understand why Korn fans aren't liking this song. This song is like the Paradigm Shift: It brings together all the band has done for 20 Years. It sounds different, but that's what Korn does: It changes it's sound every album. Korn was a funky gutteral sound, Life is Peachy was more separated in it's funk and heavy core, Follow the Leader was even funkyer, Issues was straight-up weird, and Untouchables was heavy. Take a look in the Mirror was really heavy, then See You on the Other Side was super funk. Untitled was strange, and Korn III was back to their roots. Path of Totallity was their largest shift, as it went from old grungy funky metal into Electro-core and Wub-Wub metal. The Paradigm Shift was their grouping together of all they had done before, and this song is too. I love this song and all it stands for. And I love Korn as a band, and may they keep on changing it up. Because, God knows we need some fresh shit in this genre that isn't Deathcore.
