"Finally Free" Lyrics It's hard to see what you will find When your heart's dipped in agony I tried too hard, I was too kind I saw your face in everything (I'm hating it) It's coming for me (I'm hating it) It's laughing at me (I'm hating it) It's time to realize what is really going down (I'm hating it) It's staring at me (I'm hating it) It's pulling on me (I'm hating it) I can't believe it Take it down, take it down now Where are you now? I tried to get through to you, nothing is saving you How could I fail? This life betrayed you and you are finally free What you see is what you get I had no time to process it I think if I just turn around That this nightmare will come unbound, oh (I'm hating it) It's coming for me (I'm hating it) It's laughing at me (I'm hating it) It's time to realize what is really going down (I'm hating it) It's staring at me (I'm hating it) It's pulling on me (I'm hating it) I can't believe it Take it down, take it down now Where are you now? I tried to get through to you, nothing is saving you How could I fail? This life betrayed you and you are finally free You're crying out for me (Don't let it take you down) You're crying out for me (Don't let it take you down) It's so hard to see (Don't let it take you down) It's so hard to see It's so hard to see It's so hard to see You're crying out for me You're crying out for me Where are you now? I tried to get through to you, nothing is saving you How could I fail? This life betrayed you and you are finally free That you're finally free That you're finally free That you're finally free That you're finally free It's so hard to see It's so hard to see You're crying out for me You're crying out for me

I was 12 when Korn released their debut album. It was crazy and scary. I never heard anything like it because there was nothing else like it. Of course I didn't understand the lyrics at that age. Then Life Is Peachy came out and by the time Follow The Leader came out I was almost a young adult. When Issues was released, I remember starting into my own addiction. Untouchables in 2003 and I was in the pinnacle of addiction. Rotting In Vain, Take Me, and Black Is The Soul really touched my life. Finally kicked those habits and KoRn has been there with me all the way. The music is real. It's different. It's scary awesome and I love it.

The context of the content I understand so, it's like J.Ds creative work ethic took the reigns at a vulnerable time and out came this masterpiece. I suppose that's what he's been doing since the first album. But dayym this made me a fan again after decades of being away from them. Producer must be a factor too. I remember growing up, playing in a thrash metal band and the stigma that came with liking Korn, or Nu-Metal in general. Friends hating this band for no clear reason. Many years later it just gives me more respect for these guys. \m/
@wadethesladewilson6753
@wadethesladewilson6753 3 жыл бұрын
No clear reason? Korn plays simplistic metal and skips out on the guitar solos. I remember when people started suggesting Korn to me. So I picked up the first album and hated it. Korn was incredibly boring and lacked the brutality & technical skill of bands I was into at the time. Another friend had the nerve to compare Korn to Pantera and after I had him listen to Pantera some more he quickly changed his mind. Yet I will admit once the second Korn album dropped I was starting to like them. The Issues hit and I was in. Issues had more groove and felt closer to bands I liked. So I went back to the first few albums and found myself liking them even more. That was when I come to realize it was about the emotional depth and not the the technical skill. It was about grooving to the sound and not showing off your skills. Now I own every Korn album. Coming from Death Metal, Thrash and Groove metal I too enjoy Nu Metal. I never gave a fuck what people around me felt about it. Yet I did understand the drastic differce in Nu Metal and the other genres. So I get why old schoolers wasn't a fan.
@wadethesladewilson6753
@wadethesladewilson6753 3 жыл бұрын
@MusicMoviesGames Exploring similar bands like Korn is not a negative thing and shouldn't be frowned upon. Why wouldn't you wanna explore more bands to learn of other bands you may like. As for 40 Below Summer, they are a nu metal band I really appreciate. Heavier than Korn as they kept the intensity going. Korn maybe the kings of nu metal but that iss no reason to not explore other bands. Korn has always been leader of the pack and only a fool fails to know who Korn is.

@@wadethesladewilson6753 I'm curious what you thought of the third album - Follow the Leader was their real commercial breakthrough into mainstream. I can't hear it objectively in any way these days, but I wonder how you felt about the mellower sound, and how the stronger influence of hiphop came across to someone that wasn't inclined towards them at all.

Preach man, I did the same once or twice, and had the same thought every single time. Jobs these days are soulless and the people you work for usually take advantage of you and your kindness. The only way I've kept my sanity and kept working through the pain is by taking multi month long hiatuses from working. Which is basically unfeasible if you don't have a good savings to fall on. All I can say is if you ever find a job that you're respected at... keep it. Even if you're barely making it work. Mental freedom is honestly just as liberating as financial freedom. Peace.
