Yup. Jonathan puts lyrics and music to a million miles of suffering I’ve walked in my life. When I’m just about broken all the way (and on the verge of ending my timeline; been there so many times), his music gives voice to my pain and lets me know someone else out there understands the torment. It’s the music of torture and madness, and somehow it makes me just a little bit saner. I could never give that up. He’s left his mark.

I absolutely Love Korn. Have loved them since I found their Self titled in 94, when I was 14. What I love about Korn is that, while they may not have that original brutality that made me fall in love with their music, they have stayed metal, and they are now just really enjoyable to listen to their new stuff. I hear this and I can nod my head to it and say I still love Korn

It's amazing how they've lost the gruntled aggression, but still keep the relatibility. I actually think they've gotten better over the years. SoS, TPS and The Nothing are top tier albums IMO even though my favorite album of all time is, and always will be, Untouchables.

The modern sound itself may be generic, as opposed to the old - relatively raw recordings of Korn. But you can still hear their identity, so to speak. Also, I dont necessarily think it a sin to "upgrade" on sound quality, even if it makes one think that its generic

I discovered Korn in my mid 20s. I’ll never forget it. I’d heard a song or two from a sample disc I got with another album. It made me go out and buy ‘“Follow the Leader”. I sat in my car waiting for my then girlfriend (later wife, later ex-wife that deserves all the worst) to finish up work and ride home. I devoured the album and played it on repeat I don’t know how many times while I waited. It was the first time someone sang right to the pain maddened monster inside. I did not expect it to speak so deeply to me, to get all the pain, all the hate, all the anger I’ve carried my whole life. There’s always been a monster chained up at my core. She finally came out. I tried to share it with her. She kinda liked it, she liked metal, but it really didn’t touch her like it touched me. She just didn’t understand. It wasn’t for her. She couldn’t look inside and see her own monster. She NEVER could admit what she was like I could. But over 15+ years together she’d feed that monster, that wounded, angry animal with her lies, her cheating, all her disrespect and pettiness, all the nagging and constant bitching. Now that hateful beast, that sad, broken, spiteful, distrustful, misanthropic monster is who I am, and she helped raise it. She gave it teeth. She gave it talons. She stripped its flesh raw and cut to the bone and filled it full of fire. But Korn, Korn gets me. Korn knows what we are, what I am. Jonathan Davis knows what it’s like to have the monster in your basement, the one you barely keep shackled, the one roaring and screaming in the back of your head every moment of every day. I’ve been a fan ever since. Korn knows how to give the beast what it needs, how to feed it, how to calm it, how to talk to it. Jonathan knows what the madness feels like. The rage. The suffering. He’ll never see this, but he’s my brother in that way. If his soul is in his lyrics like I think it is, he’s kindred. One of us. One of the beasts that can’t ever heal, that can’t let go of the anger. Thank you JD, thank you Korn. You let the monster’s chain slip just a little. You soothe the beast so it can feed, so it can cry, so it can sleep again. You sing with its voice, and it’s kept me a single toe on the right side of sane. This album speaks to my tortured mind in ways I’d almost forgotten I’d needed in the places I’ve been hiding from the world. I’m an old man now, but they still know how to speak to the thing I try to keep lock up in my soul.

@T Desi being that NuMetal is newer than regular everyday Metal that's gonna be a given. Can't really honestly make a comparison between a genre and a subgenre of that genre. It not a fair comparison. At least when comparing which is "miles ahead" of the other. Especially when Metallica was formed in 1981 and KoRn was formed in 1993. That's over a decade. It's really not a surprise that KoRn's sound would be "miles ahead" by then. If it wasn't then they shouldn't be considered NuMetal.

I think this song is about a turning point on a person's path where they decide what they have been doing no longer works for them due to situations / people / themself and they choose to do something differently. I think the video is a baby in the womb waiting to be born and this represents the dark and tangled situation that no longer works for the person that is about to lead to a rebirth of situation that is newer and cooler that I as a person can learn and grow from like the child in the video that is about to be born. Is what I got from the lyrics and video of Forgotten. Thank you so much Korn as always you are my one true love and musical higher power.

I'm amazed that they are still putting music out. I mean you have to admit that's crazy. Not very many bands have 14 albums and are able to find a way to add some creative ideas to expand and the freedom to do so. Many bands are stuck in a box because fans tend to put them there and block any creative ideas. Me personally I love the fact that korn is not in a box like 99% of rock, metal, pop, and just about all types of music. That's why most music coming out is dead and boring, fans put the artists in a box and the creative spirit can't explore. Korn is definitely out of the box. I get your criticism, there is some elements that I have noticed that repeat like the song structure; intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, verse, chorus end. But just about everyone is doing that formula.
